I recently attended a pre-release showing of the new wine related film “Bottle Shock” 
about the 1976 “Paris Wine Competition” where a couple of California wines, a Montelena chardonnay and a Stags Leap cabernet bested a veritable who’s who of French wines in a brown-bag tasting. This is the tasting that put California wine on the map. Though pretentious at times the film has a good cast, some very funny moments, beautiful scenery & plenty of wine. Worth checking out.
Casa di Vino hears from insiders that a serious version based on the George Taber book, "Judgement of Paris" is due out in 2010 and may star Tom Hanks and Hugh Grant. I'll keep my ear to the ground.
